Must Read: The Winter of Frankie Machine by Don Winslow

Do yourself a favour. Read this book this week.  And you owe me one.

After reading this story, which De Niro was for a time attached to as a screen project, I have decided to look a little more closely at old guys who on first glance seem part of the everday fabric of life and yet have a little extra air and space and echo about them.  You just never know who they used to be and still are under the surface.
