Hey, who stole Spring

Went out early this morning and encountered a cold north wind, dark clouds and once I made it to Midland (Ontario), I found snow on car tops and hoods but none on the ground.  Nothing compared to the hit the Prairies took but still I feel badly for all the Moms who will be heading out into the cold for Mothers’ Day brunches and for all the optimistic gardeners who got ahead of themselves and will be looking nervously at their gardens to see how two nights of zero Celsius treats their plants.  Someone talking to me yesterday noted that the apple growers up near Thornberry, Ontario, were very worried about frost damage.  Until now they had been excited by the large number of blossoms on their apple trees this Spring.
