Shakespeare meditates on tennis ball

I lost him last year in July to a tumour, he was 10 and a half years old….my best friend, my teddy bear, who loved swimming in Georgian Bay, it was an honour to have him come live with me as a puppy.

a bunch of small stuff

Enjoyed the new episode of Foyle’s War, very happy it got renewed after some new bureaucratic chieftain axed it early.  This story dealt with the US Forces and troubles between Black and White troops.

Took Grace to the off leash park today.  It was not as much fun for her this time.  She got chased by a bunch of dogs who enjoyed her submission and rabbit like run to escape them.  We ended up walking around the perimeter on our own and she enjoyed ranging and sniffing everything.  When we rejoined the pack she was more confident.

My next door neighbours only come up from the city on weekends once the weather warms up.  Here today which is unusual.  I sat down in “front” to read and scribble.  Five minutes after my butt hit the cushion of the chair, they lit their garden waste fire.  Nice green branches producing tons of smoke.   The wind blows across their yard to mine.  I asked if they had a fire permit.  They said they did.  I detest people who burn yard waste.  It is a no charge item at the recycling station.  For some reason our township has no fire ban on right now.  All the surrounding townships do. Go figure that one out. It has been an exceptionally dry Spring.   Fire risk is high, but no ban here.

Spring Cleaning

I decided to pull the trigger and eliminate two sources of frustration and dissatisfaction this week.  I feel unbelievably lightened for the loss.   Banging one’s head against a wall is never productive.  I will slow down and watch the Spring green up and await inspiration as to what new projects to dive into.  I do hope none will have walls at head height.
