Matchedash Bay Trail and the Coldwater River

Met a fellow photographer, Len Marriott, of Barrie, to walk and photograph the Matchedash Bay Trail NE of Coldwater, Ontario, which is about 100 miles north of Toronto.  The trail is rated easy and is 2 km long and is often wet which was true today. Great sunshine and a sign warning of bears in the area, We met no bears, just a couple of frogs and a turtle.

I brought along four cameras and used three: Pentax DSLR K10D, 35mm Bessa R with 35mm lens, Canon Camcorder, and a tiny backup digital still camera from Sony that never got out of the camera bag.

Only flaw in the day is the mud I need to wash off my old sneakers.  Not too bad.  Nice sunshine and good company.

  1. I know the area quite well myself. It;’s a real shame they will probably destroy the bear. Just not right.
FYI: the pic that shows the river with Big Rock to the right of the frame… is the North River, not Coldwater River. They merge at the bay.
