I stopped by at the Wye Marsh Wildlife Festival this morning. I have attended this quite a few times over the years. It has been a couple of years since I made it out. The festival content is reduced. They still have the woodcarving competition and that is fine thing to see. But in there small area of small huts, only one was in use for the Hunters and Anglers who offered a chance to taste game. The large rain shelter that used to hold 6-8 display booths has none this year. It is part of a food booth. And the parking lot which used to hold a live music area and various crafts sales booths was empty. They had something called a Swamp Race running this morning but that didnt catch my interest. I did enjoy the cart ride back to the far parking lot where I stashed my car. The cart was pulled by two beautiful Belgian horses. Admission was $8. Since I am a full member of the WMWC and come to see the marsh and boardwalk many times a year I simply checked out the festival events and then went home. It took me just forty minutes.
