I left university without ever touching a computer. They were just getting started with text editing being made available to the general student population as I was stumbling through fourth year at University of Toronto in the 1970s. I could touch type and stuck with my typewriter. With my first job computers were central to the work and I got a chance to learn and that was the start of my exploring new technology. I began with keypunch cards. Things have come a long way.

I worked two months on keypunch. I think that’s when the migraines got worse.
